What the price is made of

One number on the screen, two different things inside it.

The road tax

The amount the Bulgarian state charges for the right to use its roads. It is set by law, it is the same everywhere, and we do not mark it up. We advance it and pay it in your name.

The service fee

What we charge for executing the mandate: registering your vehicle in the official database, checking your data, advancing the tax, sending you the proof and answering in Romanian when something goes wrong.

We show a single total, with VAT included, because that is the number that matters at checkout. But the nature of it is this: we never resell a vignette - a road tax is not ours to resell. You give us a mandate, we execute it, and we charge for the work, not for the tax.

Why it costs more than on bgtoll.bg

The honest answer, since you were going to check anyway.

Because we did not make the vignette more expensive - we charged for our service. The road tax on this page is exactly the one the Bulgarian state asks for. What sits on top is our fee, and you can see what it buys you in the list beside this text.

You can pay the tax yourself, directly on bgtoll.bg, for less. The site is in Bulgarian and English, the card payment fails often enough with Romanian cards, and there is nobody to ask if the plate goes in wrong. For some people that trade is worth it, and we would rather say so here than have you find out afterwards.

What the price includes

  • The road tax, paid to BGTOLL in your name and on your account.
  • The registration of your plate in the official register, for the period you chose.
  • The proof of payment, by email, as a PDF.
  • Support in Romanian and English, before and after the payment.
  • An invoice for our service, on request.

Questions about money

Because you pay for two different things. The road tax is exactly what the Bulgarian state charges - we do not mark it up. On top of it sits our service fee: we register the vignette in your name, we advance the tax, we check your data and we answer in Romanian when something goes wrong. You can always pay the tax yourself on bgtoll.bg, and for some people that is the better choice.

No, and we never claim to be. vinietaBG.ro is a private service, with no affiliation to BGTOLL or to the Bulgarian authorities. You give us a mandate to register the vignette in your name and on your account, in the official database, for a service fee. The official website is bgtoll.bg.

Yes. The card details are typed on the payment processor page and never pass through our servers. We never see and never store your card number.

Yes, for the service we provide. Write to us at contact@vinietabg.ro with your details and we issue it. The road tax itself is an expense we advance in your name, so it appears separately.

Until we register the vignette, yes - use the withdrawal form or write to us, and we refund you in full. Afterwards the road tax has been paid to the Bulgarian state in your name and cannot be recovered, which is why at checkout you expressly ask us to register the vignette immediately.
