Leave on Friday afternoon, come back Sunday evening. The weekend vignette is built exactly for that shape of trip, and it is the cheapest way to cover both directions.

It has one fixed interval: Friday 12:00 to Sunday 23:59. You do not pick a start hour - you pick which weekend. Everything before Friday noon and after Sunday midnight needs a different vignette.

The weekend vignette is the one exception to the rule: it does not start when you want it to. It opens on Friday at 12:00 and closes on Sunday at 23:59. Bought during a weekend that has already begun, it starts when we register it. Pick the weekend from the list and you see the exact interval before you pay.

Compared with the other periods

If you leave on Thursday or come back on Monday, the weekend vignette will not cover you - take the 7-day one instead. For a single crossing in one direction, the one-day vignette is cheaper.

We register it as soon as your payment goes through, usually within minutes. You can set the start date for today or for a later day - the vignette opens at the beginning of the day you chose, and the 1-day vignette at the time you chose.

Yes. Pick the start date in the configurator, up to 30 days ahead. The validity is written under the field, so you see exactly when the period opens and closes before you pay.

For a vehicle up to 3.5 t, the compensatory fee is €46.50. If you do not pay it in time, the fine is €153.39. Enforcement is automatic: fixed and mobile ANPR cameras read every plate on the tolled network and check it against the register, so there is no patrol to avoid. If the penalty comes from a registration mistake of ours, we refund the first one.

If the vignette was not registered, or was registered with details other than the ones you typed, we refund the whole order. If that got you a fine or a compensatory fee, we refund the first one for each vehicle, up to €153.39. Send us the payment document; the conditions are in our Terms and conditions.

Because you pay for two different things. The road tax is exactly what the Bulgarian state charges - we do not mark it up. On top of it sits our service fee: we register the vignette in your name, we advance the tax, we check your data and we answer in Romanian when something goes wrong. You can always pay the tax yourself on bgtoll.bg, and for some people that is the better choice.
